Jo Evans D.Phil, Dip Couns UKCP

Psychodynamic Counsellor & Systemic Psychotherapist

Therapies offered
Psychodynamic counsellor and family therapist

About Jo
Alongside her private practice, Jo is a family therapist in the NHS. As an experienced family therapist she knows that family life can be challenging enough, but an event like a house move or a death, or a situation involving rows or bullying can tip things over the edge. Jo aims to provide a useful thinking space to assess what is going wrong and decide the steps to get back on track. She can work one to one with the most affected family member, or offer a space for your family to think together about what is not working for you. Sometimes a combination of the two is the most supportive way forwards.

Jo is a fully qualified counsellor and systemic psychotherapist with years of experience working with children and families, helping them have the conversations and find the solutions which will lead them on towards a happier life.

Experience
Jo has been offering counselling and family support for a number of years in various contexts, in independent practice and for local children’s charities and counselling services, alongside therapeutic roles in special schools, Children’s Services and NHS CAMHS teams. Jo combines talking therapy with creative and interactive methods. Jo has had long involvement in child development, parenting issues and family dynamics.
