About Lucy
Lucy is an experienced Gestalt psychotherapist, supporting her clients to know themselves better and make more informed choices to improve their lives and relationships. In unravelling and accepting who they are, clients are empowered to heal and make lifelong changes.

She offers a calm and confidential space and uses clients’ experiences, as well as the relationship between her and you, the client, to explore your ways of being with others in your environments. She believes that understanding these patterns, how they have come about and the tensions between different parts of ourselves helps us to be more compassionate and kind to ourselves and our difficulties. Our bodies can be an important prompt as to how we feel and creative methods including body process/movement are sometimes used to help with focussing on emotions.

Short and long term counselling is available and will be agreed to suit your needs.

Lucy has been working in Private Practice since 2015, supporting clients with a variety of issues including anxiety, depression, relationship, sexuality and gender identity issues and difficult experiences from the past. Alongside and prior to this, she gained experience counselling young people from 13-25 years old with It’s Your Choice for over 2 years and worked for 6 months with students at Southampton University. She also spent 3 years counselling for Hurting 2 Healing; a charity that offers support to adult survivors of childhood abuse.

Lucy taught on the Level 4 Diploma in Humanistic and Gestalt Counselling at Eastleigh College in 2018, and remains as a sessional lecturer for them.

She undertakes regular Continuing Professional Development to maintain and update her skills and knowledge.

She has worked with people who have diagnosed mental illnesses such as generalised anxiety disorder and borderline personality disorder, and also has experience of providing time-limited counselling
