About Lucy
Lucy is a qualified psychodynamic psychotherapist. She offers dedicated support, empathy and understanding to people facing emotional and psychological difficulties, in a comfortable, non-judgmental environment.

Lucy provides focused, short-term counselling and in-depth, long-term psychodynamic psychotherapy, specialising in anxiety, depression and work related stress as well as self-harm, trauma, loss & bereavement. Her special interests include relationship issues, transitions to new life-stages, Post-Natal Depression and LGBTQ+.

Psychodynamic psychotherapy is based on the premise that difficult experiences in the past can affect the way we feel and behave in the present. Exploring emotions, thoughts, early-life experiences and beliefs can help gain insight into the root causes of your presenting issues. This self-awareness can lead to a positive change in your relationship with yourself and the world around you, and help you make clearer decisions in life.

With her support, clients begin to make sense of their world and take steps to change unhealthy patterns. This can have a beneficial effect on one’s self esteem, encourage healthier relationships lead to a better quality of life with a clearer direction.

Experience
Lucy has several years of clinical experience. She has worked in a London NHS hospital providing long-term psychotherapy. She has also been employed by IAPT to provide short-term counselling in GP surgeries and has founded her own private practice. During her training, Lucy held a clinical placement with the charity Mind.
