About Mark

Mark is a Chartered Clinical Psychologist who qualified and worked in Australia before moving to the UK. Alongside his work at The Coastal Practice, He continues to work in an NHS acute mental health service helping people with complex mental health difficulties.

Mark’s overarching framework is CAT, as it enables him to integrate the practical and effective strategies from different strands of CBT along with the depth and relational aspects drawn from psychoanalytic approaches. Mark also practises EMDR as it is a powerful and effective method for resolving and treating past trauma.

He is experienced in providing evidence-based treatments for anxiety, depression, OCD, PTSD, relationship difficulties, self-esteem issues, grief and a range of other problems. Mark has developed specialist skills in the NHS in helping people overcome complex difficulties, often arising from traumatic or challenging experiences.

He is an experienced trainer and clinical supervisor and welcomes inquiries from individuals and organisations for these services.

Experience

Mark has over 15 years’ experience working in charitable organisations, the NHS, and other government departments. This has enabled him to gain a breadth of experience across a range of service settings including forensics, drugs and alcohol, neurology and stroke, and mental health.

Mark has worked as the service lead for a busy inner-city NHS psychology service, which included overseeing the implementation of psychologically-informed approaches to working across an acute mental health care pathway.
