About Tanya
Tanya is an experienced and fully qualified counsellor working privately with adults and young people. She is an accredited member of the National Counselling Society.  Tanya aims to offer a confidential and compassionate space to acknowledge and explore what could be holding a person back in life. Her focus is on building the relationship – to allow the client to feel comfortable, heard and understood, with the hope that through connection it will be easier to share difficult and sometimes overwhelming emotions. She offers short and long-term counselling.

Experience
Tanya has experience working in private practice, the charity sector and education. She has worked for over 10 years with children and young people in the UK, Kenya, Mexico and America. As a qualified children and young person’s counsellor she works as the counselling lead of a secondary school and provides mentoring for pastoral staff.  Tanya has experience working with Sexual Trauma as a counsellor at STARS (previously Dorset Rape Crisis).  Tanya works privately with both adults and young people with a variety of issues including anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship difficulties, family problems, stress and abuse.

Professional & academic qualifications

  • Advanced Diploma in Psychotherapeutic Counselling.
  • Post Qualifying Diploma in Counselling Young People. Iron Mill.
  • Tanya undertakes regular Continuous Professional Development to keep her skills and knowledge up to date.
